54th Yambilee Queen,

Crystal Candella

On October 30, 1999, Crystal Dane Candella, was selected out of 17 girls from across the state as the 1999-2000 LA Yambilee Queen. Crystal competed in interview, promenade of princesses, evening wear, and on stage question.

Crystal, who is a native of Bunkie, now resides in Lafayette where she is a Masters of Business Administration graduate student at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is 22 years old and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Public Relations from UL in the fall of 1999. She is a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority, Public Relations Student Society of America, and Sigma Gamma Mu Communications Honor Society. She is very active in the community as the coordinator of the Acadiana SAFE KIDS program, St. Jude volunteer, and a Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana volunteer.

Crystal will compete against 70 queens for the title of Louisiana Association of Fairs and Festivals Queen of Queens in Alexandria on February 5, 2000. As queen, Crystal was awarded $500.00 to help with her expenses while traveling to over 10 festivals throughout the state of Louisiana.
